NEW AS OF OCTOBER 13, 2009! The 24 x 30 board
comes ready to hang with 30 hooks.
(Please Note: Our blog site has been removed from the remote site, and the articles on Choosing a Tool Board and Tool Board Uses that it contained is now available within our own site. If you need help in making a decision on what kind of tool boards to use, please read the articles. We will soon be adding other articles, such as recommendations on mounting tool boards when the work bench is not against a wall. ) Shown above is a group of four of our heavy-duty tool boards. Think how great these would look in your shop! This versatile 24" x 30" tool organizer comes to you ready to hang, and allows you to hang almost any item for storage or display, including heavy tools, on hooks that won't fall out! Hooks are gently tapped in with a mallet or hammer, into tapered holes with chamfered edges for easy insertion. They can be removed and re-inserted an unlimited number of times. No spacers are needed. Slots for the optional hanger bracket are molded into the back. "Through-holes" for mounting screws are located in each corner, but if you are trying to match to wall studs, you can also drill through any of the holes to put the mounting screws wherever you want them. Also, if you need to mount it over a switch or receptacle, you can easily cut an opening by starting a hole with a 3/8-inch drill bit, and then do the cutting with a small saber saw. Because your hooks can be spaced as close as 1/2" apart, you have much more versatility for tool hanging than common peg board. This allows you to fit more items, as well as odd-shaped items as compared to standard peg board. Our specialty pin (#3) and our heavy duty pin (#2) turned sideways allows for almost infinite spacing to hang items with odd widths. The retentive hooks also eliminate problems when trying to remove items hung up high (like a rake or a broom) where standard peg hooks usually fall out. Note: 12/16/08, 2:30PM CST. Brian S. just emailed me to ask about the chisel rack shown on the last photo above. After calling the supplier I was told that they only made the boards and hooks for a company that ran the program of installing these boards in the NAPA Auto Stores, and apparently that company only had enough made for that program for the chisel and punch displays in the stores. So I'm sorry to say that I do not have a source for the chisel rack at this time. However, I will do more investigating and see if I can find them, or a suitable substitute. JWA- owner, Toolsorter.com The board is totally water proof and weather proof. It can be mounted outside to hold items like lawn sprinklers, hoses, nozzles, and even pool supplies. Sub-zero temperatures or extremely hot weather have no effect on this boards performance. Items like large power tools can literally be outlined with our pins to form an "exact-fit", so you will always know what belongs there, and if it is missing. You can also outline your tools with the (optional) outline marker. The board itself is made of a high rubber content high impact styrene, and weighs approximately 8.3 pounds (11 pounds with hooks). It has a border frame around it and looks totally finished when hung (no raw edges), and can be hung tight against the wall. No spacers are needed. It may be mounted to a wall by screwing through the four "through holes" located in each corner, or by blind screwing through any of the 2800 (non-through) pin holes in it. All-purpose, or sheet rock screws work very well, although deck screws are even stronger. It can also be hung with the optional hanging bracket which retrofits (without tools) to existing pegboard. The hanging bracket also allows you to hang a board where future access behind is required, (such as over electrical panels). The board simply lifts off the secured bracket. The bracket may also be desirable for ease in setting up the board by allowing you to lay it flat while arranging the tools and pin locations. You can also mount items like storage bins or even shelving hardware, using #8 (1/2" long) sheet metal or self-tapping screws, which thread perfectly into any pin hole. Screws can be removed for future pin insertion. We have tilt-open parts bins available as an accessory, which are designed for use with this board, and the top of the bins can also be used as a shelf.
Is it strong? Below is our board loaded with 162 pounds of chisels and weights! Your kit will include 30 pins (20-#1 pins, 5-#2 pins, and 5-#3 pins). The number one is a standard pin; #2 is for heavier applications; and #3 is a specialty pin which can be used either vertically or horizontally to hold many odd shaped items. The board itself can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. Shown below in the table are the #1, #2, and #3 style pins. You can also order these pins by themselves in packages of 5-10 (depending on style) if you need more. See our accessories page under "tool boards". Current users of our tool boards include:
If tool boards just like these are used by 6,000 NAPA Auto Parts stores to display their products, don't you think they would work just as well for your own use? You can order right now with reduced shipping fees and an offline, printable order form. And we have discounted shipping on tool board orders of $50 or more!(No tools included.) (See notes below chart) *These tool boards weigh approximately 11 pounds each
(with hooks) and can cost as much as $20+ to ship, depending on
location, so we may lose a little money on some of them. Our $8 flat rate, plus
the extra $10 will give us a total of $18 to cover average shipping and handling
on small orders. PayPal will
not allow for individual product corrections to their shipping preferences, so
adding the extra cost to the "Add to Cart" button is the only way we
presently know how to compensate for it. Also, our $8 flat rate drops off
automatically above $50, so then it becomes only $10 per board to ship. If you
have a need for several of these boards (more than ten), please call us or contact
us, and we might be able to arrange a better price on both the boards AND shipping. Purchase orders: Yes, we will accept purchase
orders, but we do not carry accounts, nor will we run credit checks to do so.
Therefore, we will send an invoice after we receive the purchase order. When we
receive your payment (we accept company checks and money orders), we will then
have your product shipped to you. Please use our printable
order form with your purchase order. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact
us.
If there is anything you need that you would like us to get for you, please contact us. No registration or email address needed. You can do it anonymously, with no obligation.
Although we use PayPal as a payment processor, you do not have to have a PayPal account to purchase from us. We accept the credit cards shown below. However, if you wish to go through a simple verification process with PayPal, you can then write an echeck out of your own checking account. If you've never done this before, don't worry, it is very simple to do and the checkout process will walk you through it.
